This is a framed original watercolour painting of an English bluebell (hyacinthoides non-scripta). One of a set of four original paintings completed after a walk to my local bluebell woods 'Burton Bushes' on the Westwood common in Beverley, East Yorkshire.
Painted on handmade deckle edged recycled cotton paper, I have initialled each painting on the front and signed and dated on the reverse. The frame is made from distressed metal and glass and hung with rustic twine.
This is the first time I have made any of my original artwork for sale since Littlebirdy Designs first began in 2012 so is a rare opportunity to own a truly one off piece of artwork.
With these paintings I wanted to deepen the magical but fleeting seasonal experience of visiting the bluebell woods by taking the time to examine individual bluebells at different stages of their lifecycle whilst imagining what it would be like to be a woodland fairy living among them. I hope these paintings will bring a little piece of that wonder into your home.
The paper is A6 in size (10.5cm x14.8cm) and the frame is 5"x7" (13cm x18cm)
Please hang out of direct sunlight.
